Fat Thursday is getting close. And since it’s almost impossible to buy traditional sweets without eggs or dairy products, we’ve prepared two simple recipes for traditional Polish angel wings. Something that has always been prepared at our home on this really sweet day.
Ingredients:
1 cup wheat flour + 2 tbsp
½ cup plant based milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp vodka
pinch of salt
oil for frying
Instructions:
Combine milk with flour in a large bowl. Add a pinch of salt and vodka. Start kneading the dough. At the end add the vegetable oil and knead the dough until it’s smooth and firm, and is no longer sticky.
Roll very thin. Cut it into rectangles with a gash in the middle. Pull one end of rectangle through so it looks like a twist.
Fry in hot vegetable oil until golden brown.
Transfer to paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve with icing sugar on top. Enjoy!
