For a long time we discussed what to make. Finally, we decided not to prepare any lunch/breakfast food but to make vegan desserts. We carefully planned which cakes and desserts should be presented. We presented our favorite desserts and cakes: millet cake with nut crust, lemon tofu cheesecake with Oreo crust, chocolate and coconut cake with raspberry jam and fresh fruit, chocolate and carrot muffins, croissant with strawberries topped with chocolate or sugar icing and nuts, cinnamon rolls and donuts with sugar icing, caster sugar and sweets. Of course everything was 100% plant based.
There was lots of work. We wanted to make all the desserts perfect. K. was not too excited about 2 days of manual works related to cutting off and making mini logos for muffins, stickers for bags, price lists and other decorations.
K.’s daughter came to the rescue:) She supported us from the very beginning and took part in all the preparations and testing ;p
We did the shopping, we calculated the costs, we planned our stand and made patters of old vinyl records. But the most important was the division of works.
We wanted all the desserts and cakes to be fresh so we started all the baking late at night and finished 2.5 hours before Veganmania started.
From 4 a.m. on Sunday we worked hard to provide you with fresh cinnamon rolls, croissants and donuts. Our ovens have never worked for so many hours before. Fortunately, there were no complications. Here we need to send a big thank you to our families who supported us even though they had to cope with our stress, tiredness and grumbling. A big special thank you goes to K.’s husband who not only was our supplier, driver, but also carried our shopping and survived the last few hours of stress before the festival (and believe us, when we are stressed it’s dangerous around us ;p).
About 10 a.m. on Sunday we appeared at
Sztuka Wyboru where the girls from
Open Cages showed us our stand and brought the chair for pregnant K.
We immediately started preparing our stand. Before 12.00 people already had the chance to taste our desserts and cakes. Our fears and doubts were dispelled when all the food we prepared started disappearing. The top seller were the donuts. Birthday cake was sold out within an hour.
After 2 hours our table was pretty empty. We were more and more tired, and K.’s 8-year-old daughter started to feel exhausted.
So at 5 p.m. all the lucky ones had the chance to buy the last muffins at a special price of PLN 2 :) We started packing after 5 p.m.
Was it worth it? Absolutely. Despite all the tiredness, stress and hard work it was nice to hear kind words from people who appreciated our food or asked us where our bar/ restaurant was. What was even more encouraging was the fact that there were people who came back to our stand for more :)

For us
Veganmania festival was a special day. So much vegan food at one place is like heaven. We had the chance to see how such festival works when you take part in it not as a guest but as an exhibitor. Unfortunately we did not have time to taste the food from all the stands. The lines to some stands were so long that we could not leave our stand to wait for the food. We really regret that we did not have the chance to try the food from
Vegab from Krakow :( Fortunately, there were stands next to us that came to the rescue. If it wasn’t for the ladies from
FoodArt Company we could not be able to survive the day ;p We also had the chance to try vegan ice cream, have the falafel from
MUKA BAR, delicious baklava from
Ottomanska Pokusa and amazing desserts from
Physalis. We really hope that it was not the last edition of vegan food festival in Tricity.
We want to thank you
Open Cages and the girls who not only were responsible for the organization of the festival itself, but supported us and helped us whenever necessary. On Sunday afternoon
Sztuka Wyboru became vegan heaven!
Who visited us there? How was it?:) Share your photos and opinions :)
