We have already mentioned that both of us are huge cats’ fans. We love all animals. They are part of our families and so their needs are as important as the needs of any family member. Some people may call us crazy, but the truth is we are not alone in treating animals as our friends. If you love animals, you probably know the feeling of concern and sadness when suddenly your hairy friend behaves differently, or when you need to leave your pet under someone else’s care for some time when going on a business trip.
You may wonder how it is possible that both of us are so in love with animals. The answer is simple. We were raised this way. Pets have always played an important role in our lives.
You may not believe us but when we were little, we shared our room with 15 cats! It’s not a joke. That was only possible because of our deep love for cats and understanding of both of our parents, who by the way love animals as well.
Our cats always wanted to spoil us. There were days when we woke up in the morning and had a dead mouse or a frog lying on a pillow, and a proud cat ready to be hugged for his “amazing” gift. There was no other choice but to get rid of the dead animal from the pillow and appreciate the gift ;p
There were also some scary moments. Once M. was sleeping soundly, when suddenly she woke up screaming with a scratch on her forehead caused by a cat jumping off the wardrobe.
Taking care of so many pets was a challenge and required lots of sacrifice and responsibility: feeding, cleaning cat litter box, checking if the cats want to go outside. We had to clean destroyed flowers, get rid of dead frogs, take care of sick cats, assist delivery of kittens, clean the room when the cat forgot its way to the litter box, or look for lost cats.
But despite all of that, nothing is important when you feel the love of your small hairy friend.
Our parents have always had lots of love for animals. You may say that they ran some kind of animal shelter for animals that were thrown out by their previous owners, and dropped to our parents (happened lots of times). Our dad used to make doghouses, our mum used to look for some blankets for the dogs and they used to cover all the costs related to our hairy friends.
That’s why, it is not surprising that both of us ended up with pets.
K. has a cat Demi. M. has a cat Ryszard, and for a couple of months a small dog Tosia, who by the way was born by a homeless female dog adopted by our parents recently.
Believe it or not, but life is better with a pet by your side:)
