APPLE PIE

Weekend time, but still there’s lots of work to do. So it’s a perfect time to prepare some dessert. We love desserts and we love simple recipes with local ingredients. Here’s the simple recipe for an apple pie made of sour Polish apples that you can buy at almost any grocery.

Ingredients:

3 apples (Grey Reinette Apples)
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup potato flour
¾ cup sugar
50 ml soy milk
½ cup vegetable oil
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp vanilla sugar
4 tbsp ground flaxseed + 12 tbsp hot water

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine flaxseed meal with hot water. Add sugar, vanilla sugar and mix until you get smooth mixture. Add vegetable oil and soy milk and mix again. Then, add sifted flour and baking powder into the mixing bowl.

Cover the baking pan with baking sheet. Pour the batter into the baking pan. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.

Peel the apples. Cut the apples into halves. Remove the seeds and cut the apples into slices. Place the apple slices on the top of the batter and press them gently. Sprinkle the batter with cinnamon.

Bake for about 45 minutes. Enjoy!
