REFLECTIONS OF VEGE-VAMPIRE ON GARLIC

Ok. It’s time for some explanations. You already know that the reason I haven’t eaten meat for 24 years is not only the empathy but also compulsive disorder.It has a huge impact on the things I eat and actually leads to some limitations. These limitations make not only my life harder but also my family...First limitation - raw garlic. Childhood trauma and the curse of my adult life.


My first memory of raw garlic is related to a
crazy mixture of garlic and milk which our mum used to prepare as some kind of medicine.   I still remember sitting in pajamas and getting a cup of milk with... squeezed raw garlic ... One sip of it and, well... I got sick. I can remember the smell and taste of it till today. Something between an old shoe and rancid butter.  Just the thought gives me the creeps.
In time, trauma related to the mixture of garlic and milk got worse. I started to link raw garlic with raw meat. I don’t know why and how, but whenever I can smell raw garlic, I can see fresh meat of a pig. This vision makes me sick and scares me at the same time. (You will read more about compulsive disorder and how raw meat relates to it soon, it’s a long story;)) After all, I have never liked meat too much.
I had to stop using public transport because, believe it or not, I always had the pleasure to meet the fans of garlic - at 8 o’clock in the morning! Come on!
That’s not all. My family had to give up adding raw garlic to meals and eating it - otherwise separate room and home ventilation obligatory!
So, now you know why I add dried garlic? Gives taste but does not kill:)
